To each their own

To each their own

Thoughts

Published: 7/15/2026

I found myself in a position where I know I did something unusual, and I am disappointed with the outcome. Something that my present self wouldn’t do because I know I am not that type of person, but then again, it triggers something that I loathe.

I told someone about this because it bothers me, and she told me to let go of thoughts I cannot control, because one way or another, something is still going to happen; we just hope for the best outcome.

After our conversation, I told her about the realization and lesson that I got from it, and she acknowledged and told me to never again, which I agree with because I hate the fact and its very unlikely for me.

I’m always reminded that every person has a different perspective, and I cannot generalize by thinking that if I do something in a certain way, others should do it the same way. Likewise, if I have an opinion about something, I shouldn’t expect others to have the same too.

I was explaining this to Guerrero as I used my best friend’s name as an example and my relationship towards her; I told him that one thing we have in common is that we almost share the same opinions, no matter what.

To each their own makes the journey more interesting since we meet people with different perspectives in life, which we also have the capacity to engage, deal with, ignore, and learn from.

Also, take note that to each their own makes the point of view differ from time to time. If we believe in something that we know before, tell someone about it, and something happens that we realize it's the other way around now, then it's okay to change perspectives since we all know that people change even their opinions.

Earlier today, I had my training, and we talked about what makes our life in Doha interesting. Some answers were keeping themselves busy by moving around, joining triathlons and marathons, having seasonal hobbies (for skiing), doing side quests such as pickleball and tennis, and by just simply being happy with what they have. Our instructor said that we should enjoy more and take advantage of the benefits that we have, maximizing the time in Doha and doing things that we really love.

It was also very timely because she said we should focus on our own grass and make it greener, instead of looking at someone else’s. Sometimes, their grass only looks greener because it’s full of shit. (Pun intended.) Everyone laughed.

You know, I would say that I am lucky enough to have a support system that I can tell all the good and hard times that I am dealing with in this life. They would not tolerate, however, they would acknowledge what I feel, then tell me to learn the lesson from it. I suggest, if you have one already, cherish and keep them because life is more meaningful when you are surrounded by the people who loves you genuinely.

May we always have the lightness to see the good in everything.

Light and love, Maveer Lo.
